Cost of Solar Energy Equal to Traditional Energy in 19 Countries!

The results of Applied Materials Third Annual Solar Energy Survey are out. And there are a few surprises.

The biggest surprise is that the price of solar photovoltaic panels is the same as the cost for traditional energy sources in 19 countries. This includes Italy, Spain and Brazil. And California, although not a country, will follow suit by the end of 2011.

This is great news for homeowners interested in going solar. The price of solar will continue to go down. Not only that, but traditional energy costs will continue to go up, making solar energy the smart choice. This is important as the survey revealed that more than 50% of respondents indicated that financial aspects are a factor in their decision on whether to go solar or not.
