New Green Economy Conference & Expo

New Green Economy Conference & Expo

The 10th National Conference on Science, Policy, and the Environment: The New Green Economy, is hosted by the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE).

The conference will explore the meaning of the green economy and how investment in green education, research and jobs can help solve both the economic and environmental crises.

The conference will focus on solutions – the development of a “greenprint” on how to achieve a sustainable economy. It will look at the role of science (including social and natural sciences as well as engineering) and its application to society in the development of a green society. It will look for opportunities for long-term win-win solutions that can both help the economy to recover in the short term and to be sustained in the long term.

The outcome of the conference will be a set of recommendations on how to move towards a green economy in the US and in the world. These recommendations will be developed by multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral participants in concurrent breakout sessions on the key issues of environment and economy. The recommendations will be presented to the Obama Administration and to Congress, as well as to other key stakeholders.

Welcoming over 1000 attendees, The New Green Economy will bring together leaders in sustainable business, environmental policymakers, civil society, university faculty, students from across the nation, and educated citizens.
