2010 Northeastern Pennsylvania Energy Expo and Green Event

The Pocono Northeast Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council and its partners will be hosting the Northeast PA Energy Solutions Expo on June 26-27th, 2010 at the Luzerne County Fairgrounds in Dallas, PA.

The Pocono Northeast RC&D is a regional organization that encompasses and serves the following ten counties: Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Montour, Northumberland, Pike, Schuylkill, and Wayne. We will be partnering with our sister council (Endless Mountains RC&D Council) to include a significant portion of the northern tier of Pennsylvania. Therefore, this will be a 16 county event. The 2009 Event had over 600 visitors and raised funds for multiple environmental projects.

The event will focus on alternative and renewable energy opportunities as well as energy conservation for residents, landowners, municipalities, regional governments, and local businesses. The intent of the Expo is to be a forum where people can come to see, witness, and learn about potential conservation and alternative energy solutions. The forum will include a mixture of exhibitors, displays, and educational/training sessions, such as Solar 101, energy audits, weatherization, geothermal, ground source, wind assessments, climate change, and more.
